Patient Testimonials

At the age of 52, I was given a choice…a choice that would change my life forever…that choice was to lose my right leg above the knee, to…possibly save my life. I chose life! Amputation quickly threw me into the world of prosthetics. It’s been nearly ten years since my original amputation, followed by numerous setbacks and multiple surgeries, starting over each time, dealing with extreme nerve pain and a shorter limb. I have become a challenging patient to fit with a prosthetic. Because of this, I have had a roller coaster of a journey with several different prosthetic companies and prosthetists. I live in a small rural community that doesn’t even have a stop light, let alone a prosthetist. So, I have traveled all around the country for the last ten years for all my prosthetic needs. I recently started working with APO about a year ago, after wearing a socket that every single day for the last few years has given me blisters. Why? Because my desire to walk was more important than my comfort level. APO from the very first day of my consultation has taken the time to listen to my needs, they wanted to know what has worked and what hasn’t worked for me. Yes, I am still a challenge to fit. But we have worked as a team and work through issues so I can continue on my journey, one step at a time. I am very appreciative of everything they have done for me.

Advanced is such an amazing Prosthetic & Orthotic company, I have been with them for almost 3 years now. My original prosthetist was Pete such a amazing guy to work with, but sadly he moved on the other things in the Prosthetic World, which I Inherited Sanden in Pete’s place which I have only great things to say about how much Sanden is. He is respectful, understanding, listens and understands your thoughts and concerns for your needs. He has an open minded which I like a lot, dependable when ever I have a question or concern either during the week or weekend. We connected instantly, which is really important to me having that. I highly recommend Advanced Prosthetics & Orthotics to anyone looking for a great Prosthetist. The Staff are all amazing also is the owner, Thank you so much for all the support you have given to me these past 3 year, will continue growing with this company!

My dad, Dallas and I are singing the praises of Jaime! We came in to the appointment with the simple goal of receiving a shoulder brace. We received much more. Jaime guided us in the use of the brace, listened carefully to our questions, and set clear expectations as to what the brace would and wouldn’t be able to do. As we were leaving, we mentioned some of our frustrations with his current ankle brace. She examined the situation and promised us she could provide a better brace. Jaime with the support of the tech team created a leg brace that supports his ankle and holds his knee. This new brace will keep the knees from buckling, which has been a problem in the past. Now he can walk with less risk of falling. We look forward to working with Jaime and the team from Advanced Prosthetics & Orthotics to improve dad’s independence and quality of life.

I can’t thank the people here enough for everything they have ever done for me. I have consistently had the best success with every prosthetic that I have gotten. Jaime is not only a great tech but a very kind hearted person that always goes above and beyond to make sure my needs are met. Patty is always such a sweet and beautiful soul that makes sure to brighten your day when you come in for your visits. I will always come here to get what I need as a LBKA I cannot thank you guys enough for the hard work and determination to dang near accomplishing the impossible. I love all of you guys!!!!!

I switched to APO about a year ago. It was a very tough decision to make because switching prosthetic companies can feel a bit like cheating on your spouse. I had met Brittany and Steph at a Challenged Athletes Foundation biathlon event where they were volunteering their time adjusting prosthetics and helping athletes. They helped me adjust my leg in order to be able to successfully ski for the first time since my amputation. I decided to make the switch afterwards because I meshed well with Brittany. I am so incredibly glad that I made that change! The staff at APO are second to none! The office staff is organized, polite, and always assists me in a timely fashion. Denise their billing expert has been able to help me with issues concerning my insurance when they refused to cover my prosthetic. The owners and managers care about each individual patient and do not just see people as numbers. The techs are knowledgeable and blow my mind with the volume and promptness of their work. Most of all, the prosthetist are incredible. Brittany has helped me progress in ways I didn’t think possible. She has gotten me through dark points in my recovery. She is always improving my socket fit and in turn my quality of life. I have thrown curve ball after curveball her way and she has met them head on with a smile on her face and a “let’s do this” attitude. Including phone calls after hours and even some help via FaceTime when I couldn’t come into the office. The team at APO can meet all of your prosthetic and orthotic needs at any point in your recovery. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
